This is not a limitation — it is a deliberate design decision. VERITA changes this. Not by replacing institutional verification — but by giving every professional a way to document, score, and share their credentials in a format that any institution in the world can check, in any of 12 languages, in under 60 seconds.
The model is the Visa card. A Visa card does not tell you the cardholder is trustworthy. It tells you that a verified institution has checked their identity and their account is real. VERITA does the same for professional credentials. The VERITA Credibility Assessment Seal means: these documents were submitted, these claims were assessed, and this score was produced on this date by this system. That record is permanent, publicly verifiable, and blockchain-anchored.

What VERITA does — and does not — claim
VERITA assesses the consistency, completeness, and plausibility of submitted documentation.
VERITA does not verify document authenticity. No AI system reading text can confirm that a passport, diploma, or certificate is genuine. VERITA cannot access government databases, university registries, or any official verification system. What VERITA does is assess whether the claims a person or organisation makes are internally consistent, plausible, and supported by the documents submitted. Fraud often fails not because a fake document is detected, but because a fake story contains contradictions. VERITA identifies contradictions.
Every VERITA report, seal, and certificate should be understood in this context. VERITA provides a structured credibility assessment — not a legal determination, not a forensic audit, not a government-grade identity verification. Institutions using VERITA reports as part of their own verification processes must conduct independent due diligence in accordance with applicable law and professional standards.
Privacy: VERITA never stores your documents. All analysis is performed in real time. Documents are discarded immediately after results are generated. No document content is retained on VERITA servers. API keys entered by users are used only within their browser session and are never transmitted to or stored by VERITA.
